For 2019, the 50th anniversary of Stonewall and the gay liberation movement, GOAL is proud to field a team for the annual AIDS Walk. AIDS Walk is the largest single-day AIDS fundraising event in the world! It's a great opportunity for GOAL NY to gain even more visibility within the Community and fund raise to support the Gay Men's Health Crisis (GMHC) and other HIV/AIDS service organizations.
Since it's a charity event, participating does mean raising funds. Members who participate should set a fundraising goal and can work toward achieving that goal through donations from our families, friends, and communities. It won't be a daunting task because we have the support of each other and GMHC.
The Executive Board will be participating, and so should you!
Sunday, May 19, 2019
Sign-in opens at 0830 hours. The Walk begins at 1000 hours.
The 6.2 mile (or 10K) route winds through Central Park and the Upper West Side
AIDS Walk New York benefits GMHC, Hyacinth AIDS Foundation, and dozens of other HIV/AIDS service organizations in the tri-state area.
20,000 community members who care!
