Statement on the Passing of Greater Philadelphia GOAL Vice President, Dante Austin

The Gay Officers Action League of New York grieves and mourns together with the Officers and Members of the Greater Philadelphia Gay Officers Action League and the Philadelphia Sheriff’s Office. Deputy Sheriff Dante Austin will be missed by all who he touched, all who were blessed and warmed by the light that was his life. “Dante was a proud law enforcement officer, but his life and work went beyond the uniform he wore for Philadelphia. Dante was an activist, a veteran, a leader and a powerful voice for those that society often times leave behind. We will miss his voice, but we will never lose his spirit.
