Statement on Club Q Attack in Colorado Springs
Many of us are waking up to the terrible news out of Colorado Springs. Once again, a deliberate and violent act has been committed against our community. Five people were lost and many more injured.
Our gratitude goes out to the Club Q patrons who courageously subdued the attacker at great risk to themselves. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families.
While the investigation into this act of terror is in its infancy, we don’t yet see a nexus to New York City or the metropolitan area. As always, we are vigilant in case others become emboldened by this act of violence.
We will continue to maintain contact with our partners at all levels of government and make ourselves available to support the efforts of those working to address this incident, be it from the community or law enforcement.
