Queens Pride - June 7th

Join GOAL in marching at the 34th annual Queens Pride Parade. This event is the second oldest and second largest pride parade in New York City. Found in 1993, it is held annually on the first Sunday in June, in the neighborhood of Jackson Heights. This is your time to shine and to show New York that we are part of the LGBTQIA+ community and we are proud law enforcement professionals. It is a short march and guaranteed to be a fun time. Rain or shine! Details are, as follows:
GOAL’s is #5 in the line up for the parade tomorrow, June 7th. Our section is AQUAMARINE - 37th Avenue, between 88th and 90th Streets.
Full duty uniformed members must wear Class A dress uniforms, all other members should appear in goal polo or tee shirts. The Administrative Guide has a procedure for attending fraternal events and marches on job time at the discretion of member’s commanding officers. Please contact your commanding officer or administrative office if you would like to participate on job time.
Members who received an excusal: This is not a day off. You are assigned to Employee Relations for the day, and are required to appear in dress uniform at the parade, rain or shine. If it rains, you must appear - if the rain is torrential or the situation is dangerous, we will decide the day of as how best to handle the situation in conjunction with the parade organizers and Employee Relations. If you received an excusal and do not show up, your ICO will be notified and you you must appear for your regularly scheduled tour. If you appear out of uniform, your command will be notified and you will be returned to your command for your regularly scheduled tour.
